The removal and treatment of waste diesel laundering sludge in County Louth. This will consist of the collection of dumped waste and transportation to Louth County Council machinery yard in accordance with a traffic management plan. Once the waste is relocated to the machinery yard, the successful contractor arranges for the waste within the IBCs to be decanted into liquid waste containers and solid/ semi-solid waste containers. the waste is then subsequently removed and transported to Dublin Port where it is exported. This waste sludge is usually disposed of on site in 1000 litre Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). Sometimes this waste can be deposited in drums/barrels. Dump sites tend to be on green roadside verges or gateways on local or regional roads in remote locations in the county. Typically 1 to 3 IBC_s per dumpsite however up to 10 have been encountered on occasion. There have been instances where IBCs have been disposed of on flat bed trailers with as many as 48 IBCs on a trailer. Dump sites are generally located in the north Louth area within a 10 mile (16km) radius of Dundalk, although they may be found at any location within the county.
